Face Detection

Detects the presence of faces in the scene. (Face detection, not recognition.) It is the gate every face capability sits behind, and the point at which you decide whether anything further happens at all.

What triggers it

Answers whether a face is present in the frame and clear enough to be usable — not whose it is. Where Vigil-X.AI matches a face at all, it is only against your own opt-in, per-site watch-list.

What you set up

  • the zone
  • minimum face size in pixels
  • confidence floor

What the operator gets

A box around each detected face with a quality figure indicating whether the capture is usable.

Face capabilities run only against your own opt-in, per-site watch-list — face detection, face enrolment, and unauthorised-person alerting. Vigil-X.AI does not perform 1:N forensic face recognition against external or government identity databases, and does not perform cross-camera tracking.

Where it’s used

Every site defines this differently.

What counts as an event in a hospital lobby isn't what counts on a station platform or a factory floor. Describe your scene and we'll tune the detection to it.
