Loitering Detection
Flags people or objects dwelling in an area beyond a set time. The threshold is where the judgement lives, and it is a site decision rather than a product one.
What triggers it
Time in place, not movement. A person or object stays inside the zone past a threshold you set, and the threshold is what makes it meaningful — thirty seconds at a substation gate, ten minutes at a ticket counter.
What you set up
- the zone
- dwell threshold
- whether the clock resets when the subject leaves briefly
- schedule
What the operator gets
An alert stating how long the subject has been present, with the clip running from their arrival.
Where it’s used
Every site defines this differently.
What counts as an event in a hospital lobby isn't what counts on a station platform or a factory floor. Describe your scene and we'll tune the detection to it.
